MARZONE Training Workshop - Freemantle, WA

In May 2007, a 2-day workshop on systematic conservation planning was held to specifically address the needs of the Department of Environment and Conservation's Marine Policy and Planning Branch.  The workshop provided staff with an introduction to key concepts and principles of systematic conservation planning, and overview of information requirements followed by hands-on practical sessions designed to provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to use Marxan and Marzone in a conservation planning exercise.  The workshop was supported by the CERF funded Australian Environmental Decision Analysis hub (AEDA) and the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust.
